Scenes of Mild Peril

"Scenes of Mild Peril" - my collection of short stories from the back half of 2018 - features in the June subscription box from those lovely chaps at Your Paper Quest. It''s lovely to think it'll have a whole new audience and lease of life, and one of the things that they asked me to contribute was something to make it unique for the reader. Some of their previous authors have included playlists or recipes with their books, but I thought I'd give something a little... different.

The following note is slid neatly 'twixt front cover and first page for all the subscribers, and - as well as featuring an example of handwriting so you can convince some artificial intelligence to write you some cheques from me - it's a whole heap of Easter Eggs from the book within which it neatly nestles.

Here's the note in question, which contains a grand total of six - count 'em, SIX - easter eggs relating to stories within Scenes of Mild Peril. Some are way easier to spot than others - two are, frankly, blatant - but if you think you can identify all six pop me an email describing what you've found and which stories they related to to davidjcourt at gmail.com (don't forget that all important J) and I'll pick a few at the end of July 2025 (to give you a chance to read the book) and send a personalised goodie bag of stuff out.

Good luck, and get reading! (and thanks to Your Paper Quest for being a beautiful reminder that people still care about books).
